Domestic violence

“You can tell who the strong women are, they are the ones building each other up instead of tearing each other down.”

Every minute 17 women experience domestic abuse in the United States.

84% of homeless women say they have experienced severe physical and sexual abuse.

Studies have shown that women who experience such traumas are at greater risk for depression, anxiety, and ptsd.  These in turn lower a woman’s self esteem and ability to attain and retain a job.  There are many ways that charities help these women, but one aspect that is overlooked is the power of makeup.  Not only does makeup make the women wearing it feel good and confident, it actually is a signal to others as well.

”A recent experiment revealed that women pictured wearing cosmetics were evaluated as healthier, more confident, and even having greater earning potential than the same women wearing no makeup (Nash, Fieldman, Hussey, Leveque, & Pineau, 2003)

What WE are doing to help: Starting July 2018, 5% of every sale will go towards providing basic makeup and beauty staples to survivors of domestic violence who still need the most help.

You will also be given the opportunity to vote on which beauty products we provide, and to match our contribution at checkout.

Let’s work together as a community of strong, confident, lovers-of-beauty and Bare Our Hearts to those women who need our help.

Who are we helping: We will periodically find different female crisis centers for domestic violence survivors to give our donations to.  This July we have chosen the Safe Harbor Crisis Center in Layton, Utah to give our donations.  We will purchase mascara, eyeliner, concealer, and flat irons with our combined donations.

If you would like to recommend a center near you for August, please email us at
